There have been a few times in my life when I feel that God so strongly desired for me to hear His voice that He repeated Himself over and over until He got my attention. Three times God has repeated Himself over the past few weeks with the same message spoken through three different friends and He has my attention. I am listening. It is a message for me for sure. However, I truly feel that it is a message for all of us so I will do my best to share it with you and hopefully you will feel led to share it with others.
There is too much to share in a single post and I know all of you are very busy. I have divided it into 4 posts so that you will be able to read and then take a little time to do the activities and to ponder. I pray that God will simply use my posts to speak to you through His Spirit. I am nothing except what He chooses to use for His glory.
So let’s begin this journey together…
Part 1 – Discover Your Story
The moment we were conceived our story began. The thread of God’s love was just as present and vital as the umbilical cord that connected us to our mother. God knew you before you were ever conceived and He loved you even then.
Jeremiah 1:5 “I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb.”
In the depths of your being you know that you have a creator. He has a plan for you.
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I have a plan for you says the Lord; a plan for good and not evil to give you a future and a hope.”
As we grow older we can look back and see how God’s hand is visible from the very beginning of our story.
I would like for you to join me in making a timeline of your life. Think of moments big and small that have shaped you into who you are today. Add the names of people who have guided, influenced, taught, and loved you along the way and made an impact on your life. I highly encourage you to include mistakes that you made, moments both happy and sad, successes and failures. Some events will be life changing, some may be subtle but important all the same. Include your salvation experience and other God moments where you have seen the hand of God clearly at work or felt His presence.
Take your time. Embrace the memories because they have played an important role in making you who you are today. When you are finished, sit back and take a look. Do not be afraid of the emotions that may come. Very seldom do we take the time to look at the big picture of our life as it has been from the beginning until the present.
This is Your Story
