I took this picture in hopes that you might could put yourself into my thought process. So this is how it happened that God taught me something new about Himself as I was flying home. I looked out the window and, although the clouds were still present (see yesterday’s post), they had dropped below our level and there was the most beautiful moon and sky. It was perfect. So then came lesson number two.
The people on the ground can’t see the moon right now because there are clouds in the way. But, I can see it just as clear and beautiful as ever. My life is like that too sometimes. Isn’t yours? I know God is there and I have faith, but it can still be pretty confusing. He has a clear picture of my past, present, and future and the same picture for all the ones I love as well.
Now here is one of a million reasons why I love God so much. He used this view out my airplane window to help me understand Him a little better tonight. The people down below me can’t see the moon right now, but I can. Sure, they know it’s there. They trust that it hasn’t gone away forever and that it will return on the next clear, beautiful night. But, if I could call down to them, I would say, “It’s OK. I see it and it’s beautiful! I wish you could see it right now too. But you are just going to have to trust me when I tell you that it is awesome.”
God wants to tell me the same thing tonight. I can’t see my life or the plans ahead of me, but God can. Just as clear as I can see the moon, He can see my life and the lives of those I love. He whispers in my spirit, “Trust me. I see it all and it is awesome!”
Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you says the Lord. Plans for good and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
A little song comes to mind that many of you have sung since you were children. I learned it from my husband when we started dating. It goes like this…
“I see the moon, the moon sees me. The moon sees the one I long to see. God bless the moon and God bless me. God bless the one I love. It seems to me that God above created you for me to love. He picked you out from all the rest because He knew I loved you best. I see the moon, the moon sees me. The moon sees the one I long to see. God bless the moon and God bless me. God bless the one I love.” Amen
