To all the women –
Being a woman in this world is not always easy so I have something to say to each of you for Mother’s Day :
*To those who have made a choice not to be a mom – It’s a bold choice and I am proud of you. It takes strength and confidence to know that is not your path and it’s OK. Just because you are not a mom does not mean that you are not an example. You have influenced far more people than you even know. Continue your calling.
*To those who are wanting desperately in their heart to be a mom but, through infertility or miscarriage or loss, your arms are still empty, I pray for a peace to cover you today that is without explanation. I pray for your arms to be full of love and joy and happiness, not necessarily to fill the void, but to make it a bearable sorrow because of all the other good things in your life.
*To those that had a precious Mom who is now in heaven, I pray that your memories today are precious and that they fill your day with abundant Thanksgiving and many smiles remembering days gone by.
*To those of you that have a mom that is extremely ill or that is slipping away due to dementia or Alzheimer’s I pray that you will hold to the glimmers of recognition or the hint of a smile and that you are filled with the strength to carry bravely through the process and hold to the joy of the memories.
*To those of you who had a mom who never quite figured it out I pray that your hurt and pain will be filled with the love of God that can heal any wound.
*To those women in your later years that feel your most important times have come and gone, I want you to know more than anything that you are appreciated and loved by all of us who come behind you. You have been our example, our guide, our spiritual mentor, our trail blazer and so much more. You are the glue…the ones who have prayed for us tirelessly and stood in the gap for us more times than we know. As our moms, as friends of our family, and as the framework and foundation of our church we honor you. You are not done. I look to you often for your wisdom that only years of can bring. I hope I make you proud.
*Thank you to all women in every walk of life.
God’s plan is still at work on your life.
You are amazing!
1 O Lord, you have examined my heart
and know everything about me.
2 You know when I sit down or stand up.
You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
3 You see me when I travel
and when I rest at home.
You know everything I do.
4 You know what I am going to say
even before I say it, Lord.
5 You go before me and follow me.
You place your hand of blessing on my head.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too great for me to understand!
7 I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
8 If I go up to heaven, you are there;
if I go down to the grave,[a] you are there.
9 If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me.
11 I could ask the darkness to hide me
and the light around me to become night—
12 but even in darkness I cannot hide from you.
To you the night shines as bright as day.
Darkness and light are the same to you.
13 You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body
and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex!
Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion,
as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
16 You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book.
Every moment was laid out
before a single day had passed.
17 How precious are your thoughts about me,[b] O God.
They cannot be numbered!
18 I can’t even count them;
they outnumber the grains of sand!
And when I wake up,
you are still with me!
“Perhaps you were created for such a time as this.” Esther 4:14
