I love this season of the year; Thanksgiving, Christmas and then the anticipation and celebration of Easter. But I have to admit that Thanksgiving always takes me to a place of self-reflection.
I treasure the time I get to spend with my family and the timeless traditions we have put into place. However, I am always reminded in the very depths of my soul that, as a Christian, every day is Thanksgiving Day!
The Savior of the World has already come. I am thankful.
He came in human form so He could identify with my frailties. I am thankful.
He gave His life for me. I am thankful.
He conquered death. I am thankful.
He saved me from the penalty of sin. I am thankful.
The message of Christ has been written on my heart. I am thankful.
His Spirit walks with me every second of every day. I am thankful.
He has gone to prepare a place for me. I am thankful.
He will come back for me someday. I am thankful.
With each morning light I will thank God for His presence in my life.
Every day that I have life and breath I will thank God for His grace, mercy, and love.
May my thanksgiving be as steady and natural as the rhythm of my heart.
“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!”
Psalm 107:1
Thanks Kelly, today with the increased terrorist attacks in France and the depressing news, I needed to be reminded that God has it in control all the time, all the way, and we only need to be Thankful. I am!
